Pet a Peeve, Will Ya?

Definition of Pet Peeve:

Pet peeves involve complaints about specific behaviors, rather than general dissatisfaction. Pet peeves often involve specific behaviors of someone close, such as a spouse or significant other. These behaviors may involve disrespect, manners, personal hygiene, relationships, and family issues.

Ooo…I have plenty of pet peeves, as Baby would attest to. And although I try to not let it bother me, it gets really hard when it is constantly repeated and reminds you of just how much you are irritated by it. Here are my top 5 pet peeves.

1) People who doesn’t bother to say the ringgit properly. These ranges from the all time favourite “RM 10″ to the salesgirl at the Ikea checkout counter saying “Ringgit 10″. For further clarification, the way to say it is “10 Ringgit” Ringgit being said after the denomination.

2) People who do not signal when they want to turn, especially when I am there waiting like an idiot, thinking that they are going to go straight. How hard is it to turn your signal light on lah?!

3) And I know people list this often enough, and is rather unoriginal. But it’s so common, it’s irritating. People asking “Guess how much it was?” Of course, people has grown wiser, and knowing that it is usually a tactic to show off how little she paid for item that is being shown off, people would often mark down their prices. This usually leads to an anti-climatic conversation. Showing off her bag, “Guess how much it was?” Bored to death, “I don’t know, RM15?” Peeved girl, “No silly, it was only RM150, it was 70% discount!” Peeved girl changes topic.

4) People who put stupid and ignorant comments on Youtube or forums. Hey, if you didn’t understand the sarcasm and wit in the video, then keep your trap shut. Don’t go show people how stupid you are. And it doesn’t matter if the internet makes you anonymous, it doesn’t stop you from being stupid and a bigot.

5) Another a pet peeve involving the internet. It concerns people who keep forwarding junk, convinced that it’s going to somehow change their life that day. The people who are utterly convinced that by spamming 15 people in their mailing list, would somehow alter their fate or destiny. Stop it. Don’t be stupid. You don’t need to forward and spam other people’s inbox to be able to “Meet and old friend” or “Make a couple of thousand dollars” or “Die by being hit by a truck”. YOU make your own fate and choices, not some dumb message in your Friendster, Facebook, MySpace or Email account. Stop spamming people!!

I’m feeling festive today, so let’s tag some people shall we? (It’s the only way I can make Laj and Baby update their blogs anyway)

Laj, Baby, Shy and Nads, you’re it!

Five Fav Links

Shy tagged me:

I use Mozilla particularly because I like the bookmark tabs that they provide above the address bar. A few of them are these links which I visit on a daily basis.

  1. http://www.pixelgirlpresents.com/ : A great website for the coolest and cutest desktop wallpapers. I never get tired looking through the library. The moderator updates it rather often, and the wallpapers that are featured are sometimes a breathless work of art. I still go through vladstudio.com, but pixel girl can be really addictive.

  2. http://www.sidereel.com/ : Side reel is now my favourite haunt, and a really good alternative to downloading all the series that I want to watch. Here I watch all of the new One Tree Hill episodes and my favourite Friends episodes. Oh…movies are available too. All you have to do is to make sure your internet connection is at least 100kps or above. :D
  3. www.nbc.com/Heroes.com : Writers strike is still going strong, and for my fix on my favourite series, Heroes, I go to this website, and browse through their online novel library. They have a wonderful collection of stories in the form of comics which tell the stories within the main story.
  4. http://www.thesims2.com/ : This is a wonderful website even if you are not a fan of the simulator series. Go to Cool Stuff and then click Games, and you’ll see a lot of cute and funny games to pass the time. Especially when you are in the office.
  5. http://www.deviantart.com/ : For my daily fix of beautiful digital art and whenever I need a quick photo for something. I sometimes also go here to hunt for cool desktops and and software.

Here’s the part where I am supposed to tag someone. Can I tag Baby only? Hehe…
